Here's a VOA for the Delo 400 XSP 5w-40 that many jumped on during the AAP blowout & the current Chevron rebate period. Not sure if this should be added to the PCMO or HDMO VOA threads as it's a dual rated oil for SN+ as well as CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4, CI-4 PLUS, CH-4.

I will say that it's currently in my little GMC Canyon with the Vortec 2900 & it's the quietest oil that's been in there. Not that it means much but it was a noticeable difference.

@himemsys @fantastic I'll let you two decide where to place it if not both.

hmm. That phos seems low. does your bottle say this meets Ford's F1 specification? (WSS-M2C171-F1 )
I'm at work so don't have it in front of me. I do recall my friend (just sold his fleet shop) saying the Delo 5/40 is no longer on the Ford approved list for the Powerstrokes & Chevron's website doesn't list a Ford HDEO approval or recommendation.

Here is Chevrons approvals & recommendations for this 5/40:

Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-40 is approved for:

• API Service Categories CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4, CI-4 PLUS, CH-4, SN, SN PLUS• Allison TES-439, approval # 439-34732018, heavy-duty automatic transmissions• Cummins CES 20086 • DEUTZ DQC III-18 LA• Detroit Fluids Specification (DFS) 93K222 • Mack EOS-4.5• MAN M 3775• MTU Category 2.1 • Volvo VDS-4.5

Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-40 is recommended for:

• ACEA E11• Caterpillar ECF-3 • DTFR 15C100 (previously known as MB Approval 228.31)• JASO DH-2

The 5W-40 does not carry the Ford F1 approval. It does not meet Ford's phosphorus minimum.

Chevron recommends it for MB 228.31. It actually carries the 228.31 and 228.51 approvals according to the Mercedes list of approved oils.

I know. I listed the approvals from a copy/paste off the Chevron website. Chevron does have 2 other versions of Delo they "recommend" for the F1 applications and another for the B applications (F150 diesel).
