Not a sale but Walmart began selling the heavy duty full syn 15w-40 at a reasonable $21.97 and the new heavy duty syn blend also a reasonable $14.97. Online only though but hopefully these hit shelves. The 10w-30 diesel crowd gets no love yet again unfortunately.

This is the pds for the FS and 4.3 hths and 8.4% noack are pretty good for a cheap full syn diesel oil. If xsp, t6, and extreme 15w-40 aren't on any sale I'd be choosing this.

This is the pds for the Syn blend and it's not bad for $14.97. 4.2 hths but a higher noack but nothing crazy. Good amount of zddp and phos. Looks like Valvoline wants to sell with both of these since they're charging lower than i'd expect them to and that's great.

Do you remember the basic white jug 15w-40 conventional? I remember it being at wm at a very good price. It didn't seem to last very long and has been off WM shelves for many years now. It's nice to see them get back into that market again. We'll take all the competition we can & like how they give good details on their sell sheet pdf. Nice find! Wonder how it stacks up to Premium Blue.

here it is...

I think I vaguely remember it but i don't think I ever used it. Mostly used the old Rotella T before CK. So I'm guessing the heavy-duty version came back, once I run out of my mag 1 stash I might try the FS In my Yukon since that has never gotten FS hdeo.

I remember the Maxlife Diesel oil as well, I think the white bottles were labeled as "All-Terrain" weird name for an oil. Should be a typical Valvoline product, excellent.

Not sure if there is a non excellent motor oil sold at WM.

Can't believe I forgot about maxlife 15w-40, I remember those red jugs now. And I think that silly "all terrain" was introduced just a couple years ago as I remember us making fun of it and how it's labeled as an "off highway" like an old sae 30 or 40 CF would be except the approvals/recs were for on highway engines and the oldest rec was for CH. Valvoline still sells the all terrain and for $19.99 but it's hardly better than the $14.97 syn blend and I'd rather spend the extra 2 bucks and get the full syn with better properties instead. I wonder if it'll be discontinued soon.

Actually valvoline does make a 10w-30 version but not for the full syn only the syn blend but it's $19.57 so a bit more than the 15w-40.

When I try to download the 10w-30 HD SB pds it keeps giving me the 15w-40 instead so I can't post it here.

If 10w-30 hdeo was the same price and avaiability as 15w-40 is I'd use it the two newer vehicles and keep the 15w-40 for the two old trucks.

I think any 14w40 will do just as a SAE 30 will........but I am no expert. I have a truck that calls for HD30 CF /SG motor oil, but i have been running standard 5w40 diesel oil in it.

I have not really seen a better value than the Supertech Full Syn 15w40.........I think it is $15 for a gallon. Maybe Providence 5w40 Full Syn for $80 bucks at Rural King, as it is a 5w40 rather than a 15w40, evidently the base is better in the 5w40.

In several vehicles under heavy use, I have used Valvoline/NAPA oil, over 1.5 million miles between several trucks, no issues.

Lowes has been selling 2.5 gal jugs of Mag1 15w-40 for 29.99 so 2.99 a quart vs 3.23 a quart for 2 gals of ST 15w-40 at 25.84. So somehow supertech isn't the cheapest anymore and lowes also offers free shipping to your door. They don't sell it in store but I've bought to have shipped home and had no complaints.

In fact I just realized they also sell 2.5 gal jugs of dex 3 mercon fluid and for only 24.99. Kind of wild to see as that's the cheapest atf I've ever seen and I trust it for use in my old trucks. Mag 1 is Warrens main brand if I'm not wrong.
