So i'm under the impression that warner makes most of these pto clutches. I don't know if warner eletric is the same company, but Ferris wants $456.99 for this clutch Ferris part#5105090YP I've found 5218-388 as the warner part# for like $190.00 unless i'm missing something here. The pulley diameter seems the same, what else needs to match? I do believe the shaft is 1-1/8th" Wonder if I'd be better off just putting some good quality skf or timken bearings in it. I know bearings aren't what they used to be, but you get the idea.

You must be using an Apple product.
So does ferris mark it up 100 percent or is the $190 one a Chinese knockoff? Looks like you have to stake the bearings in place which I'm not sure how to do. My guess is the bearings are standard bearings, but they're fit inside the clutch a bit loose, to aid in installing an removing the clutch. Since when can you just slide a bearing off a shaft without a press? Usually you heat it up and drop it on.

I wouldn't buy a Chinese knockoff.
Check with Extreme Outdoor Products and Ox Clutch.
Rebuilding isn't something I would attempt. What about the copper windings and friction materials?

Found one for about $389.00. Hopefully it's oem. That one isn't the right one in the Pic. The mower already has a harness where it plugs into the pto clutch. Who knows though. Everything they make is junk nowadays

The factory one didn't last very long though. Only 600hrs. My other mower has 1200hrs on it and no issues with the pto

Ox Clutch and Extreme make good products. Contact them and see what the offer. Ferris, Snapper, and Simplicity often use the same parts. The part number may be different across the brands.

I have replaced the bearings in clutch several times. Pressed them out and in. Matched up bearing locally. Only replaced clutch once when coil went bad. Purchased aftermarket and has worked flawlessly for years.

Did you have to grind out the area where the bearing was staked in? I don't understand their reasoning behind that and if it needs to be done for the replacement bearings
