we are in process of taking care of my mothers home after her passing . one this is that she built a fence on city land over 30 years ago . her property in shaped like a rectangle , but in reality it takes a 45 degree gut halfway down . She just put the fence in as the rectangle was hers .
So i know one can adverse possess another's private property , usually after a certain amount of years . But is this also the case with city property? i will contact a real estate attorney soon, but i thought i would ask here in case someone has some experience in such matters .
if we can take the extra land, it will be a lot more marketable to developers
Thanks
