Camry oil change

I changed my 94 Camry oil today with PP (Walmart was out of Mobil 1 5W30 and PP was even cheaper) and while pouring the waste oil into a gallon container I found a metal washer about the size of the oil drain plug in the waste oil. I am positive the oil drain plug had the plastic washer I have bought from Toyota. I have only used this drain pan for oil changes and AF changes in this Camry, no other vehicle. Its too big to somehow have come out with the oil.

Mainly curious, I do not see any leaks.

Is it the 1MZ-FE motor? Changing oil was just a PITA because of the way the filter was slanted. I could never do it without spilling some oil.

I used to have a 2000 Toyota Solara V6. The OEM oil plug gasket looked a lot like a washer (though I don't think it was actually metal). It almost always stuck to the oil pan and I had to pop it off with my thumb nail.

If you're pretty clear you didn't use a gasket that looked like the one you're seeing in your used oil, is it possible you didn't get the old one off during the last oil change (and therefore had an extra gasket). Because of the way it stuck on and because it wasn't easy to see what was going on back there I was always paranoid about doing that.

I changed oil on a four cylinder Camry last week. Pulled three, yes three OEM style washers off the oil pan. Wasn't leaking!

Perhaps yours was one that finally worked its way loose or it was an ATF gasket that was in the container before you drained the oil.

If the dimensions of the gasket is bigger than the drain hole then it is impossible to have been in the oil.

It must have fallen off the pan when the bolt was removed.
