There are rumors it will be a four-door, which might add some additional sales.I think they should just cancel the Blazer EV and reskin the Blazer EV SS as the Camaro. Because we need more mid size EV SUVs!
In all seriousness, I’m not sure what the point is. Nobody really buys Camaros. Sure, I think they’re cool, but not practical enough for me!
I said exciting.I mean we all have our opinion. I think the 370z is ugly. But I think the Honda Prologue is the most beautiful car in the world. Especially in Pacific Blue!
I was kind of excited about an electric mustang as that would be the future... didn't realize ford was going to build a modern pinto and slap a mustang badge on it though.
If they are built with 80s GM quality control that would be very accurateISHOC-Z
The 2.7 4cyl is/was offered in the Silverado but I don't think with a great take rate.Just spit balling a bit... but GM sells ~4x as many silverados per year as tahoes in the US market. I imagine that is about the same with GMC. For the effort to fit the current 2.7 in, get the vehicle certed for the us market and then sell it alongside 3 other engine options probably doesn't make it a worth while venture. Figure it still uses the older 8 speed too. Though it is interesting the Chinese version is using both the 10 speed only and a lower output version of the 2.7. Test bed for US market later on perhaps? I see it happening sooner or later. The EPA credit may not be enough for it to be worthwhile pushing it just yet.
Another thing that comes to mind... it's used primarily in a base model/low option pickup... which is fine. If I paid base model prices for a tahoe and got that engine in it... well its in a vehicle where it's sins are less forgivable. I'd be a bit more pissed. It isnt an inherently smooth or quiet engine in the pickups and if I'm spending 60k+ they better have a lot more sound deadening in there than they have... in the 40k slot they typically are found in the trucks, its passable.
That 2.7 does not have shabby tow numbers as it stands.Honestly making a 2wd base model Tahoe with the 2.7 would be a fantastic daily driver family vehicle as long as they don’t need to tow a bunch!
I’m telling you, this is my 5th GM pickup (85, 04, 13, 22, 24 (current)) and the 2.7 is my favorite engine of them all. Torque for days and the lighter weight vs V8 makes for great riding pickup. The thing feels like your driving a car. I tow 6500 lbs trailer regularly. But I digress…The 2.7 4cyl is/was offered in the Silverado but I don't think with a great take rate.
We did the math a while back... because GM says it's lighter but doesn't offer any numbers... we came to about 80lbs difference between the V8 and the 4 banger. It's fine but the perfect chassis for that engine is the colorado.I’m telling you, this is my 5th GM pickup (85, 04, 13, 22, 24 (current)) and the 2.7 is my favorite engine of them all. I wouldn't go this far, but it is absolutely one of the best looking SUVs on the road right now. Every time I see one, I wonder to myself why Honda can't make their entire SUV lineup look that good.I mean we all have our opinion. I think the 370z is ugly. My only real complaint is how unrefined and noisey it is though... and the fuel economy is not really any better than what I get in the V8 trucks... I'd also prefer it mated to the ten speed... while it does have it's issues, that thing is butter smooth compared to the 8 speed.
It's worse in the second row but yes, the engine makes noise. Can't get around that science lol. Every truck has been better than the last in some way for me. The only exception to that I think is GMT800 to GMT900... I felt that was a step backwards in quality while it was technically more refined. It does have a noise level doesn't it!? I test drove a work truck a couple days ago with vinyl floor. I was amazed how much louder the truck was with no carpeting. Disabused me of the notion that I wanted a vinyl floor (which I’ve always liked in trucks). It definitely lacks in refinement. But it still is quieter than my 2013.
I experienced the same feeling with going from GMT-800 to the 900. I liked the coil over shocks in the front, and the continued availability of the manual transfer case. Also, because mine had the 4.8 I didn't have to deal with the AFM. However, every part of that truck felt cheaper than the 800. Current 2026 is a crew cab with the Custom trim package. I think I have been conditioned to the cheapness now in new vehicles. I don't like not having a dual range transfer case (even though I almost never, ever used low range). Now you have to get the Z71 to get a dual speed 4wd system. However, in mixed (primarily city) driving I get 20 MPG, which is way more than any other truck I've had. I really like the engine. On the V8 GM spent a lot of time quitting down the harmonics when in AFM and it kind of just seems like they sent the 2.7 as is. A little more exhaust work would probably take care of most of it. I lived with an iron duke powering my boat my whole life so it really isn't a deal breaker, it's just I would have expected a little more effort in getting that under control but I guess that's what the higher trims are for.
Is this the LT or the 2FL trim just out of curiosity?

With current gas prices? It would probably sell well for a year. Then the target market will be saturated.Give it the new 6.7L and an amazing digital camera system
The next pickup iteration (2027 model year launch) will be available with a hybrid I think (or sometime shortly thereafter on the same platform). With current gas prices? It would probably sell well for a year. Then the target market will be saturated.
I'm rather perplexed as to why GM doesn't offer more hybrid powertrains.
Yeah... but it's a truck. (Sarcasm)80lbs difference in front of axle is big deal.
It is not weight per se as distribution of weight.
That's pretty much what we see too. 19-21 all around. Nice truck!I experienced the same feeling with going from GMT-800 to the 900.
