I have a question about the two caliper slider pins on the caliper bracket. On most calipers the two slide pins are different, one of them has a metal or rubber insert at the end of the pin. My question is this, which one is the top or upper pin, the one with the insert or the solid pin?

Both our Honda and Acura have the pins with bushings in the top position. I just helped a friend do brakes on his Toyota Camry and as I recall, the pins with the bushings were in the bottom position.

I'd say that it depends on the design; consult the service manual for your vehicle if in question.

Most Toyota (Aisin) type of single piston caliper with sliding pin bushings, the rubbered one is on the bottom of the caliper: most Hondas (Nissin) are on the top.
