Removing the radiator in the process of a timing chain replacement in my girlfriends 2001 Vitara, I managed to crack one of or both trans cooler nipples on the lower radiator tank. I have an external cooler on order, but would it be ok to loop the cooler lines together and bypass the cooler altogether for a week or two? We don't tow, commute is an easy one, and temps here are ~60*f

Probably would be ok just change the transmission fluid when the new cooler comes in and try and keep the torque converter locked up

I would advise against it, Get stuck in traffic & Trans temps could skyrocket. Especially if you have no way to monitor Trans Sump Temperature??
