does Frigidaire still make good washers? Had one from 2001 as part of a home set of appliances. Was an excellent washer until it dropped out of a uhaul a couple years back, forgot to close the door in the back.

It is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully it comes without any dents / scratches!

as noted simpler is better as are belt drives that absorb the shock loads. always liked whirlpool + in the past sears made by whoever but these days buyouts are common + quality is a crap shoot!! girlfriends 5YO whirlpool front loader needed a $500 electronic part, new plainer top loader less $$$ + she washed only ONCE a week, my 7 YO whirlpool front loader doing fine + also generally one load weekly! front loader uses about 1/3 the water which saves $$$ especially when its hot to get dirtier clothes clean. while working at PennState an employee noted they got all new front loaders as they will save big $$$$ in water + pay for themselves!!

It’s up and running! I got a call this morning from the delivery service stating it was delayed. I called back to find out that the delivery truck was down and a part that was needed was on order. Of course! I ended up driving over and picking it up myself. The top of the box was crushed in, thankfully the washer itself doesn’t appear damaged.

Planned mods are tint, turbo upgrade, and start stop delete. 😂🤣

That is a nice looking washer, haven't seen one that sleek before. Did the old one look like this?

You need to add blinker fluid to this for sure.

I like the idea of exploring if the lid could be repaired.
You could also do some searching locally for the same model used with a good lid for parts.
Otherwise, I would probably order a new lid (after searching for the best price.)
Prices on appliances are high die to supply chain issues, and you probably would get the rest of the usable life out of the washer with a lid replacement.
I would post over on applianceblog.com. The repair people over there are great, and have provided me with valuable information over the years.
Can a metal non see through lid be substituted in used condition.
