I just got my magnaflow muffler installed in my 2001 Montero Sport. 2.25" from the muffler exit to a nice chrome tip. I had the shop do a side exit right behind the passenger rear mudflap. I noticed a burning smell, sort of like plastic. I popped the hood while the engine was running and sniffed around. no smell. I go by the tailpipe and it's coming out of the exhaust! Because of the side exit, when the windows rolled down and you're at a stop, it gets into the cabin. What can it be?

I am 1100 miles into my AutoRx Cleaning Phase, if that has anything to do with it.

The plastic coffee cup stuck in the new muffler.

When I worked at Chrysler on the Gate Line in '64 spotwelding I would often take a can of soup for lunch. When the line started again after lunch, I took the empty soup can and spotwelded it to the inner fender well of the first job. I never checked to see how many made it through the production process and onto the street. Maybe that's why those '65 Chryco's ran Mmmmnnn, MMmmmnnnnn...Good !!
