Bulletproof Ford Engines

I've had a couple of 3.0 Vulcans. Solid engines.
I have had a number of 2.3's in Rangers. Not bad for what they were.
I have a soft spot for the 302, which my first car had.

This video should start some fist fights. I watched it but some information gave me pause... 😆

Naming engines past and present which gave longevity. We already know about the narrator .....

I am so glad the last two trucks I owned after years of GMC only, were the Fords when Quality maybe was Job One. My Ford Bronco and my Ford F150 (both in the 1990s) came with the near indestructible 302cui EFI engines. Those two engines were put thru it pulling boats and trailers all across the state to many different fishing holes. The Bronco across the country and thru all sorts of terrain on some long drive 3000mi vacations and hunting trips. Not one mechanical issue with either engine. The Bronco did suffer from a poor factory paint job unlike the F150 that was near perfect.

The EFI 460 tended to run lean on the rear, esp #8. They would burn valves and I had a couple friends have bottom ends go south (not saying that's related to mixture). The EFI 460 I don't consider reliable and I'd take an EFI 351 first. The 460 was severely neutered by the induction and/or EEC-IV and/or speed density

My mother had a new early 90s Taurus 3L and the engine blew within the first year. Like 6k miles or so. The dealership said it was a known problem on that year...I think it was a 94 model. They fixed it with zero drama and had it back in 3 days.. it went well into the 100ks when she sold it.

Ford had a 302 problem just a few years ago. Not sure if they resolved it or not.

Anyone here have experience with the new 6.8L V8 ??

The ford 4.2 six last my brother in law 279k miles without issue in a 2000 Ford 150 construction work truck that my father in was given that he drove till 430k till it rusted out in New England .

There needs to be disclaimer on all this AI generated content. It's only going to get worse.

Yeah, it's so low-quality. I think one of the entries in the countdown was for the "Ford 2.3" with no distinction between the Lima, HSC, or Duratec.
