I stayed up many nights playing Wolf3D in the basement. Then, once we got a CD-ROM drive (a 2x!), my friend and I got into playing Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss.

I built my own in 2000. It lasted till 2010 with no issues. OS just got outdated and new updated programs were too much for it to handle.
Building your own is the way to go though.

It took everything, including my son.
I have since built two computers, one for the wife and one for myself. It is amazing how much has changed even since I built my original computer just two years ago.
