Poached this from the history of Buick cars. The logo has a link to the Scottish family of Buick.

Symbol of prestige
Buick Motor Division’s famous “tri-shield” emblem, basically three shields inside a circle, can be traced directly to the Scottish ancestral coat of arms of David Dunbar Buick.

Looks alright but the placement might look better on the grill. That’s just my view.

That metal looking hood center garnish detracts from everything.

David Buick was indeed a Scotsman, so that comes as no surprise.

I honestly hate updated logos of any kind. I love all the classic old logos. The first updated logo I thought was awful was the Oldsmobile logo, updated in the late 90s maybe? It was super cheap looking. The told classic rocket logo was so beautiful!! My 87 Olds still had the classic rocket logo, and my gf's 88 that she had (1998 model I think) had the updated one.

Imo logos should stay classic and iconic. It's the last grasp of anything that makes current cars look identifiable.

The classic Buick logo is also one of my favorites. It's just absolutely beautiful!!

1) I don't think the tri-shield is new at all. It's been on Buick cars.
2) ...sounds a heck of a lot better than, "Wouldn't you really rather drive a Dunbar?"
3) ...or "David, the Better Buy".
4) And my personal favorite is, "Ask the man who owns a GM clone of one".

It's nice but who cares. No one is buying or not buying car based on the logo. And if there are people doing that, it's less than the cost to change all the logos.

Reminds me of when an Atlantic City casino changed their name in 2019 from Ocean Resort Casino to Ocean Casino Resort.

Looks decent to me. I have always thought the logo on the front and back of my TourX were a little on the large side. I do like that they kept the color.

all ways update. Q is "How often? When?"
Glad for some of them like the pancake co
and many others. Pure symbols need it less
I'd say but grafics can date (peg) another time
w/too many psych trapings. The script FORD
changing to the shield, changing to the blue circle
might B one to trace this corporate concept (well I
think, altho I'd love an old script on my rest0mod
from the '70s decade (not my '85).

Changing a logo that has been around for many decades - especially big changes like this new Buick logo does - always makes me think they've hired some new managers or vice presidents who have no idea what else to do, so they do the only thing they can think of, and that's re-invent the company with a new logo.

cities have public relations (basicly adverts) campaigns. Ours here came up w/the lamest name for the area - cost thousands for the work eventually it (what they picked, came up with) got rejected 3, 6 mo down the road.
C post #18 for what I percieve as a good job on a graffics issue like this OP's initial, but it runs the whole 'merican experience. Sports, retail, government, family (I say chuck it all & spend on other needs, this aint one) but the world would B a less nuanced place...much of this is like hair cut, clothing, home furnishings - taste, opinion, style. Being an ol fart I like the bygone. Not realistic~
