Buicks made in China?

Recently, I heard somewhere that some (many? most?) Buick models, and their GM clones, are being made in China and are being exported to the US. Any truth to that?

Yes. Buick has long been a GM brand the Chinese are fond of. Buick would have went the way of Oldsmobile if it weren't for the Chinese in my opinion.

The Envision has been made in China since 2014, and models are shipped to/sold in the US

Just the Envision. I've had them as rentals, great cars and I thought the fit and finish was excellent. I'd buy one.

The Encore is the smallest and is made in S. Korea.

anymore it seems that all good things have come to an end. Big comfortable Buicks are no more.

Envista is the smallest.

Here are the Car and Driver specs for the Envista, the Encore and the Envision. The Encore is made in South Korea.The Envista parts are made in China but assembled in South Korea. The Envision is made in China and is a larger more powerful than the other two.

Interesting. I thought the Encore was Buick equivalent to a Trax, now the Envista is the Trax equivalent?

the Encore was but no longer is...the Trax and the Envista are new vehicles for GM

More a middle size , it’s a nice CUV.
