Buick Regal Tour X Questions…

GM recommends either Mobil 1 or their own (Mobil product) full synthetic oil for its low calcium...use Top Tier premium 91 or higher octane fuel and enjoy...many recommend changing the oil by 5K miles...some also recommend a premium filter like the AC Delco UPF-64R marked filter for the 2.0 Turbo...

Any news on these from current owners? I see them from time to time used. They look good, but I'm always surprised by what dealers are asking--almost always over $20K.

It seems Haldex AWD is an issue on these. It is 5th generation, used also by VW, Volvo and Mercedes. But, in GM it has issues mostly related to the fact that GM doesn’t require any service, and service is needed. VW requires fluid change every 40k. Also, since Borg-Warner took over company, they removed filter in the clutch, and just put mesh type filter. So, prudent thing is to remove pump and clean mesh.
In VW community that is emphasized a lot, considering failures in GM, it seems that there is no similar recommendations.

Looking at one of these as an upgrade to my wifes 2009 Pontiac Vibe (Matrix) AWD. Need something with more room and I’ve always steered her to what I know, Honda Passport being my #1 choice since I’ve own a first gen Ridgeline for years now. My problem is I know almost nothing about GM cars. The 3 main selling points being, AWD system, from what I’ve seen from YouTube videos and TFL car it seems pretty capable, both front and rear and side to side power transfer. The other two being the Transmission (Aisin 8 speed) and the 2.0l turbo 4.

I think the 8 speed is pretty stout with little to worry there, but the GM 2.0l I know absolutely nothing about. Any issues with the engine or the car as a whole I should know about before we even consider looking at the car in question (2019 base w 8100 miles). I know the stop/start is complained about some, but can be removed via either an engine tune or OBDII plug in device. Anything else to look at if we do decide to go test drive it?
From Autonlogs account 3,000 were sold in the first year with between 2,000-3,000 sold the second year. My understanding is that it was a two year only model before being discontinued due to GM selling off their stake in Opel.

The 2025 Outback in a darker color kinda starts to look a bit "cooler" Even the older ones with the low profile roof racks are a bit better too. I don't know if $20k gets you a 2.4T yet but they are sufficiently quick, aren't rare, and I find they handle pretty good compared to the taller SUV's.
