seemed like a car worth owning (depending on the price) although the engine had way more pick up than i every would need, i would have rather had more mpg's then hp. but thats just me.

Likely the LaCrosse had the L26 3800. Too bad Buick did not coninue with the L32 version in the theme of the Regal GS.

As I recall it, when the Audi 5000's were crashing through buildings and killing innocent bystanders, the Audi fanboys and even the government investigating bodies blamed the car owners for being too old and stupid to tell the difference between the gas and brake pedal.

Were those dim witted Audi 5000 drivers just not "car aware"?

Wow, that's an extrapolation. I think were' talking about a half-dozen owners. I'd read up a little more on the Audi Type 44 before posting on it again if I were you.

I really don't care whether or not Audi and VW (or Buick or Jaguar, for that matter) are God's gift to the automotive world or the spawn of [censored] on Earth, but according to this guy who wrote in the time frame of the carnage:

http://catless.ncl.ac.uk/Risks/4.33.html#subj7

1 in every 400 Audi 5000's were affected. I'd call that more than about a half dozen owners.

The article was written by one Brock Yates whom I believe is likely one and the same as the Mr. Brock Yates who was then a regular columnist for a little magazine known as Car and Driver, and as Mr. Yates was attempting to defend Audi in the wake of the CBS hatchet job, I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt that he got his numbers right, unflattering as they may be.

They're just cars. Sheesh.

When you stop worrying about what other people, including girls, think about your car, you're ready. Or when you appreciate quality at a low price.

Ya you probably right! I am 31 drive a impala and couldn't care what anyone thinks.
