Buick Century troubleshooting help

I changed out the Throttle Position sensor and reset the code today. Seems to be the culprit because it’s running normal now. I did use some carb and choke cleaner to spray around the intake and hoses on the odd chance there was a vacuum leak but didn’t find anything. So knock on wood she’s good for a while. Thanks for all the help trouble shooting!

Glad it worked out.

That is throwing the parts cannon but since it is a relatively common cause and inexpensive, it is not bad to try when nothing else seems to work. The failing can be intermittent making it tough to scientifically diagnose.

I think we had the same problem on the 3.1 and 3.4 but can't remember if it was both.

Even though you think it's fixed I am wondering if it still has the original fuel pressure regulator. When mine went bad (1999 Alero V6) all I did was start the car, then remove the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, and gasoline came out the vacuum fitting end from the regulator. Super quick and easy diagnosis. Common problem on these vehicles.
