The compressor is toast. It was a good 20 year run for the ACDelco compressor that replaced the factory compressor.

Back then 20 years ago, I managed to get by without replacing the condenser. All I had to do is back flush the condenser and charge the system back up. Didn't have to pull a vacuum because it was in the middle of summer and the humidity was practically zero. The factory compressor quit pulling low pressure vapor from the accumulator, also known as not providing suction to the system. This time the replacement compressor is making a clackity noise which might mean it has shed some metal. I'll probably have to replace the condenser this time along with the the expansion tube and receiver/dryer.
 
Nice work. I have the same exact gauge in my vent. You're a few degrees colder than me though!
