I have a Daihatsu/ B&S 25 HP diesel engine. I am trying to identify the type on injection pump on it. The data plate has VE3 to start the model number. It is a distributor type pump. With that part of the number known, is it a possibility that it is a Bosch VE pump, 3 cylinder version.

I didn't even know briggs & Stratton made diesel engines... I would contact B&S with your question, they will probably be able to help you.
Is this on a commerical mower? I know high-end commercial Toros use this engine. You could grab whatever nameplate data you can off the engine and try a Toro dealer.
