Regardless of the imparted flavor, the simmering step reminds me too much of Weisswurst- the most disappointing food in Germany.
They're barely above room temperature and are served in a crock of tepid water. They are truly nowhere.

Yes I didn't make the rules but this is traditional way Beer Lots of butter and onions.
