Gas vs pellet grill in a very windy area

How old is your Genesis? I've read Weber's quality has gone downhill post COVID. But I'm not sure if other brands are any better...

I bought a Weber Spirit in 2009 and it was still running OK until I sold it last year. Probably should have kept it, but I didn't want to deal with it during the move.
I bought it new and it has to be at least 13 years old. The grill is built like a tank and I love it. You can always buy parts for a Weber and those cheap big box grills are throw-aways.

This was at the curb for bulk trash pickup a few years ago down the street from our beach house. It was missing the hinge pins for the hood and the pan that holds the grease trap liners...and it needed a little cleaning.
I ordered the parts for $7.00.
I've owned several Webers over the years as well as other brands. This 2018 Genesis II is as well made as any of them from any time period.

That was a wise pickup and a nice find. I think we paid $1,200 for ours quite a few years ago.

That would be great, but I don't have room for both. Next best thing I can do is buy a griddle insert for the Genesis.
That's an excellent, versatile solution. I have the Weber Gourmet System grates...but don't use them anymore and I bought this on Amazon:

It works great sitting over the sear burner and 2 right side burners.
I just place it over the stainless grates.
