I think it's my rear drums but i'm not too sure. Just sounds like the grease has dried up somewhere. Am i supposed to lube or grease anything in the brakes?

Does the squeak happen when the vehicle is in motion AND when the vehicle is stopped and you pump the brake pedal?

If it happens even when the vehicle is stopped, then it's likely to be the shoes scraping against the backing plate. A bit of hi-temp grease in the appropriate locations will solve it. If you're not comfortable pulling your drums, get a garage to do it. Should be a cheap fix.

The rear drums in my car are making a squeek/crunching noise when the pedal is pumped and it happens either moving or parked. I had the local firestone place do the rear shoes last time and I am guessing they didnt lube the backing plates and now they are rubbing.

Yet another reason why I don't bother paying other people to work on my vehicles. I usually end up having to go back and fix their mistakes afterwards! So much for saving the hassle.....

I know what you mean. I had to replace my sister's front pads and rotors on her Silverado because someone didn't lube the pad slides, so one froze up and chewed into the rotor.

I relube my brakes if it's been a while and I'm in the area, especially the backing plate. I also try to chip some of the rust rim off the drum to make it easier to remove next time.
