So as many of you know here in Houston yesterday, we had a ton of rain, and now I noticed that it sounds like I have a bunch of sand or something in my brakes now. Mainly only makes the sound when I push the pedal harder than I normally would. Don't know if this is a problem or just something that will go away with time, I thought it was the turbo at first, but it seems to be the brakes. Opinions? I went under the truck thinking maybe the dust shield was bent or something, didn't find anything. Do I have rocks embedded into my pads or something?

If the disc is wet you will get a whooshing slight crunch sound until they dry. If it persists its possible something is between the pad and disc or maybe you lost some lubrication on the slides?

The water was just up to the curb, maybe a little higher in a few areas, not too bad just to get an idea.

It doesn't really sound metallic, just kind of crunchy, rubbing kind of sound. I guess you described it best.

Usually goes away really fast if the disc gets warm at all. Couple stops maybe tops.

One of my rotors got warped when I ran through a big puddle of cold water after some hard braking...kept waiting for the sound to go away and finally stopped at a Toyota dealer on the way to work and they took care of it in a few hours.

They've quieted down for the most part. Most of the noise is the trailer I've been pulling. I have new and old tires on it and the air pressure isn't even, which I believe is the cause of the trailer making noise.
