Just about all aftermarket rotors are made in china. But there is premium quality and econo. The premmium quality are reasonably priced, Raybestos AT and PG, Wagner, ACDelco etc are almost as good as OE and I wouldn't use the econo on my own vehicle. Most people buy the econo. There is difference in metallurgy, machining tolerance, balance and therefore durability and performance between the two.

decided to replace my '03 148k oem Honda rotors during Advance Auto's -35% sale last nite..with these prices makes a guy wonder what's going on, these prices fly in the face of logic..no wonder domestic production is gone..

Front rotors $20.15 ea.
Rear rotors $13.65 ea.
Right CV axle $45.49
Wagner ceramic
front pads $10.60 per wheel
Wagner ceramic
rear pads $ 8.32 per wheel

after Wagner brake rebates and state tax all shipped to my door for $160.00?

I have found rotors that claim to be made in the US or Italy.....http://www.raceshopper.com/sp_rotors.shtml....Also a lot of good information about brakes at that website

I got a pair of Raybestos rear rotors for my 2006 Accord from RockAuto. They were of the "premium" type but only marginally more expensive that the lower-run Raybestos or the various other brands. They have a nice (looks nice at least) black coating on the hub, mating surfaces, rotor edge, etc. The box was clearly marked Made in the USA.

Put a set of ATE rotors on my Saab last fall, those were clearly marked Made in Germany.

Used Akebono pads for both cars, Made in USA.

In both cases, you likely got old stock. In the case of the Raybestos rotors, you got old stock for sure.

My friend bought ATE rotors for his BMW. Two were older and made in Germany, two were newer and made in China.

The Raybestos rotors I bought about 8 months ago were clearly marked "made in China."

If you do a little research online, you'll find that the parent company of Raybestos shut down their last US foundry for brake rotors a few years ago.
