I am curious about the basis for this claim. Not doubting you personally; just want to understand the data which would back this up.They don’t participate in the top tier games but the gas exceeds top tier requirements.
I too have used 87 octane BP gas and still do. I never had a fuel related problem wit its use. Reason I use it ? I get fifteen cents a gallon taken off by using my BP visa card. What is everyone's opinion of bp regular gas with invigorate. How do you think it compares to top tier gas. One near me is my favorite station locally and usually cheaper than most around. Used it for years and have had no issues so far.
A simple email to Top Tier would give you that information although today I don't see them listed and the TT website isn't friendly for Mobile users.. click the desktop mode....I've read the BP marketing info. I do believe BP (and subsidiaries) to be a decent product line and I don't think they're purposely lying. I just want to see the DATA (the tests run and subsequent results) which prove their claims. It's not that I doubt their claims; it's that I want to verify their claims. As of yet, I've not seen anything but marketing claims. Where's the PROOF? I don't see any specific ASTM or other credible test standards referenced. I want to see the tests run, so I can research the test and understand what it does and does not assure. Then show me the results of your tests relative to those standards.
I see this no different than API licenses/certs; those assure a minimum which is "good enough" for most applications. There are companies which can easily surprise those standards, but for me to purchase their products, they have to PROVE it to me. When I use HPL, it's because I trust them to provide a product which exceeds the API standards because I've personally seen the testing/validation proof. I've spoken with them in their lab and seen their production facility. Though I've not had such an opportunity with Amsoil, I would also trust them fully. Point being, don't "tell" me you're better ... prove to me you're better. Bring the receipts!
In addition to, let's say that TT specs are 7ppm additives. BP could put in 7.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001ppm additives and still claim that it exceeds TT standards.TT fuels aren't necessarily the "best". TT simply assures a good minimum standard is met. If a fuel is not TT certified, it could be because it's crap, or it could be because the company doesn't see the ROI in the license efforts and costs.

"Exceeds Top Tier Minimum standards" Is there a minimum standard for Top Tier? Maximum?
Are they a subsidiary of Triax Lubricants? NevermindWhen a company makes statements like this without supporting data, it is the old "trust me, would I lie to you?" in my opinion. Maybe they do meet or exceed TT detergency levels. But show us test results from an independent lab.
