Given the fact that they have a very difficult time doing anything at this depth, it seems to me that they should have been extra careful...

As for boycotting them, if they don't do a bang up job on clean up and compensation then they deserve to wither and die. Or they could pay the "fine" and become an industry leader on drilling safely and set standards for industry regulation that would reduce the chances of another spill.

Yes. The top BP decision maker on the rig forced through the replacement of the expensive drilling mud with seawater, against the safety concerns of others on the rig. That will not look good in any court of law.

As far as boycotting BP stations, it won't do any good as far as hurting BP. They will simply sell their oil and gas on the open market, meaning BP originated gas will be sold at any and all gas stations regardless of brand.

All these loonies out there who hate big oil should ask, why are they drilling at 5000 ft, answer because all the other locations are off limits.

Can't produce oil in the arctic where, like, three people live, instead they're forced to produce it in mile deep water where a leak can adversely impact millions, not to mention the flora and fauna.

Well maybe they should give up on the sight and pour in resin or ... aquarium sealant since it works underwater, seal it up with concrete so that eventually maritime life might get back to normal

i dont know if the gas stations are independantly owned or not but by not buying the gas you could only be hurting the little guy. I never used it anyway so not an issue for me to buy or not. I have used Castrol in the past but I can live without it.

The rest of the world is drilling offshore . Our government gave a few billion to Brazil to drill off their coast.
