If I recall correctly on the rear diff of my brother in law's S2000, the fill bolt never had a crush washer on it from the factory, the drain bolt did. I had a leftover drain bolt crush washer from an accord's auto-transmission, and it fit just right so it now has one on the fill bolt. Never leaked without one on the fill bolt, however. I'll admit to reusing these rear diff crush washers a couple times, so long as the aluminum is not severely crushed and never had one leak or hard to remove so long as it wasn't over-tightened.
Thanks for reminding me how I want to buy one of these. The "lightly used" ones become rarer every year.
a little update. i changed the diff oil today. im almost positive it was the factory fill, as it didnt apear to have been unbolted before. but its possible. it was a medium brown color and the magnetic plug didn't have a lot of metal, that made me feel better about it. i used Valvoline Synpower 75W90, as it was available local today at autozone. i bought and extra bottle and i will change it again in 10k miles or so. maybe after that i will switch to Amsoil 75w110. i figure the synpower should stay in grade for 10k miles. i do 90% highway cruising, not tracking or racing ect. i reused the washers, just flipped them over, it seemed to tighten down well and seal good. i took it for a drive and all seemed just as quiet as before. ill double check in the morning to make sure i have no leaks.
tomorrow i plan to call the Honda dealer to see if they have any MTF in stock. if not i will just order some Amsoil. the shifting is slightly notchy when cold, and at random times. when its warm it usually shifts fairly smooth, but i plan to change the diff and tranny fluid every 10-15k from here on out.

There are some discount Honda sellers online, if you buy 4 quarts at a time Honda MTF it should be around $8-9 a quart shipped if buy in quantity, I think MSRP is $7.xx a quart.
bernardiparts.com has Honda MTF at $6 a quart, oil filter 15400-PCX-004 at $9.94 each(MSRP is $13.xx). If you buy in quantity of 4 each then ground shipping should be around $20. Driving to your Honda dealer and back can cost you more than $20 in gas, and most likely they will sell it at list price or higher.

How many quarts does my AP2 transmission take? i may order them, i have to go by the where the closest dealer is tomorrow anyway so i was going to stop and see. also was the 75w90 synpower for the diff a decent choice? the diff held about 1qt when it started dripping out of the fill hole.

I think the transmission holds 1.8 quarts.
In general, most Valvoline products are good quality. I didn't personally tried Valvoline Synpower 75W90, as I had/have Mobil 1 75W90 in the differential since I changed the OE fluid in 2005.
