There is a new Guns & Ammo Store here where I live. It finally opened up and the guy gave me a deal on a case of target 9 mm ammunition. 20 boxes for 11 bucks a box. I had become very tired of buying 3 boxes at Wal-Mart (if you could find ammo) or 2 boxes at another store. So I will just buy a case a year.

thats good that you could buy that much at once. last time i stopped into one of hte local gun stores here in Santa Barbara the owner said he was getting in more ammo than he could sell and i could order pretty much anything without a backorder.

Gee, I wish I could find ammo for 5 bucks a box! I would have bought two cases at that price! Can you still get that somewhere?

It is too much waste of gasoline and time and everything else to try to buy ammo in stores where they allow only two boxes or three boxes to be bought at a time. And in the case of Wal-Mart they may or may not have any ammo.

If I can get Federal target ammo at Wal-Mart that is a great deal. They have been selling boxes of that for about $9.47 a box. But if they don't have the Federal and have WBW instead it is more expensive. And like I said there is no guarantee when you go in that they will have any target ammo at all.

Just adding up the cost of gasoline and a person's time you might as well buy a case if you can, especially if you can get a reasonable deal. 20 boxes should last a year and if not just buy a few more boxes at Wal-Mart if you can find ammo there. Plus this new store is right in the area where I live. The Wal-Mart is too but other gun stores are a considerable distance more. So I will just buy a case a year.

Odd, I keep hearing about these ammo limits at walmart. I have not encountered any such thing around here.

A good alternative to shopping for ammo at the gun store or Wally is to order online from the many reputable companies. I'm glad I stocked up when 9mm was 10-12 cents a round.
