Bosch oil filters any good?

I hesitate to embrace Bypass filtration because I have to find, and trust, a mechanic to do the installation. I really don't want to do it myself.

BTW, would bypass filtration cut down on the nitration experienced in V-6 Camry engines? If not, it won't extend my drain interval.

Hmmm, interesting replies What company makes the PureOne filters? How similar are these compared to the Bosh? So far the PureOne's seem to be the most restrictive. Kind of ironic seeing as though they are the ones that have all of those claims about having the freest flowing multiple pass-through of whatever filters that were tested along side. Also how do the Bosh's compare to the K@N's in terms of flow? I have a Bosch on the Jeep right now and the only reason I went with it was cause Autozone didn't have any Mobil 1's. Looks like that if I'm gonna pay and get the best it's gonna be a K@N instead of the Mobil 1's. I tend to be a bit hard on my Jeep so I think the extra flow is definitely a plus as Patman said.

Purolator makes the PureONE. Without having a fully synthetic filter media, they simply cannot get that filter to flow a high amount of oil AND take out such small particles. It's just not possible. Only if they had a fully synthetic filtering media, such as the Ultraguard GOld does, would they be able to have both high flow and good filtering.

That being said, I just bought a PureONE for my mom's 94 Probe GT, which will be getting an oil change before xmas. She doesn't drive her car hard at all, it never sees above 3000rpm. Around here I can't get a K&N for her car, the filters for her car are very limited. It's either the PureONE, Premium Plus, Fram or the Ford filter.

they used to be made by champs lab which makes ecore and mobil 1 and k and n's, so i guess bosch was their middle of the road filter
but i herad they're not with purolator and mann

is the current bosch any good or better than the purolator pure one? it says 99.9% efficiency, but it's a very expensive filter at 7-8 dollars, whereas mobil 1 is 10-12 dollars, and a purolator pureone is 5-6 dollars

Here's one for the 12 year time warp, since engineer20 resurrected this theard.

As you can see, the PureOne does do both. Motorking gave flow vs PSID numbers for the Ultra a while back and it does seem to flow a little bit better, because the Ultra is a full synthetic media filter. But from the data in the link below, the PureOne certainly does flow very well also.

I think I have a 20 year old orange can sitting in the garage. Perhaps I could send it to Michigan.
