Hello, I have recently purchased some oil and the Bosch 3410 filter to put on my moms 07 ford escape.

Ive read that you should just use Motorcraft filters for fords, so should I return the filter and get something else, my options are: Purolator Classic, Purolator Synthetic, Fram, Mobil 1, or Motorcraft.

To clarify, the primary reasons many people (including myself) prefer MC filters on their Fords are price and availability. It's a high-quality filter, recommended by the manufacturer, that is easily available at almost all of the national chain FLAPS, and is reasonably priced. Secondarily, many also find that it helps with start-up noise.

Having said all that, there is certainly nothing wrong with using a Bosch filter, as long as it doesn't produce start-up noise.
