thanks for tne heads up on the ford oil filter iI like purelator pure on filters on all my moters harleys included but could'nt get one for for my 87 325ic but you can in the ford filter + all that xtra capasity.

Go in eyes wide open, as the bypass settings are way different between the two (BMW 20ish psi higher), so you aren't really playing the game the way that the BMW engineers wanted it played

Thanks for your reply after some hands on resurch (bought the ford puralater pure one) It does thread on but rubs on something, took it back off I think Iam going to look for a german made mann filter, and forget going oversize Hope they dont open the box when I try to return it. lol

I'm running M1 10w-40 in my M42. Seeing some loss, no smell/smoke indication that im burning, but no drips underneath showing that I'm leaking. Very wet valve cover gasket though...

I've liked RTS 5w-40 in the past too.

Seeing this post makes me happy with my recent Delo 400 15w40 investment

I was kinda thinking about trying Amsoil's Z-ROD since these have a flat tappet cam and zrod is designed for that.
Thoughts?
