BMW Certified Pre-Owned?

I've been to three BMW dealerships in my area. One has a lot of snobs and sharks; another has mediocre-to-decent people; the third is excellent.

In other words, the distribution is... exactly the same as it is for any other kind of dealership.

I agree 1000%

- they will not great you unless you have an appointment
- if you have an appointment - you buy a car
- if you don't want to buy a car right now for whatever reason (didn't like the car, price, you want to negotiate the price, or any other for that matter) - get out. We'll sell it to someone else anyway...

Which part of CA are you in?

One-owner vehicles are technically used cars.

Yep. The exact opposite of FZ1's statement are how I feel (and more or less what I actually did).

Absolutely the ONLY dealership experience ever in 40 years of ownership that was always pleasant and relatively inexpensive. And a durable car to boot with good resale value.

I just grew to hate the total isolation from all outside stimuli. The cars are completely numb.

We move a lot of cars through this family and a Carfax is not really what it's represented as, you still better beware!

Exactly our experience - the Lexus ownership experience is great, the cars are perfect (my wife had a couple of older LS's back when they were still trying to become a competitor in the Luxo-barge market), but once the novelty wears off the total isolation really gets old. I used to compare them to a driving a car simulator. I do miss the clean white lit gauges with the projected idiot lights. They seemed strong at the time, but by today's standards they are pigs.

Someday I would like to drive a new LS460h just to see if they have sportified it any, but they are way, way out of our price range now. I priced one out just for fun, it was well over $100k with the interesting options.
