Hi, I have just bought a 2019 X5 3.0d and I am considering Castrol Edge or the Fuchs Titan GT1 pro C3, I will probably go 5/30 but I am sure the factory fill is now 0/30.

Any recommendations on the two, both have the BMW ll04 spec, the Fuchs is quite a lot cheaper though.

Fuchs Titan GT1 Flex 3 5w40. You can pick it up for ~£30 for 5 litres or £100 to 20 litres and it carries Porsche C40 which is one of the most stringent specifications around right now.

I don't know about the Castrol but Fuchs is also blended to meet other similar specs like Porsche C30, VW 504/507, and Mercedes Benz 229.51.

If the Castrol also has the same certs I would use whichever is cheaper. 5w vs 0w won't make a difference with the UK's temperate climate.

Castrol edge is also 504/507, C30 and 229.51 approved.
Fuchs actually supply the VW Quantum long life 3 5/30 and it’s just re branded Titan GT1 pro C3.
I can get 20L of that for £85 compared to 20L of Castrol edge for £145.
