It's hard for so many people to accept because that means that most of you anal-retentative oil changing Nazi's are full of [censored].

Well, not really. But kinda.

Everyone wants longer OCI's and all about balancing protection vs. cost. Blah, Blah, Blah. But in the end, I do believe this report.

Some of you guys crack e up. Of course he topped off the oil!!! Duh genius. The crankcase would have been dry a long time ago. Did he change the filter, maybe so maybe not. But I don't really think it matters too much.

This type of no maintenance is fairly common. I see people pull it off all the time. Engines are usually shot at 100-150k miles. They don't care. At 150k miles and 5,000k OCI's.....that's 30 oil changes. That's about $1000. To them, they save the thousand....dumb thinking, I know. But that's how some people roll. LOL!!

Every factory fill UOA I have seen has tons of Moly. That's because of the Moly used during assembly. This UOA only has 43 Moly. Either this car has had tons of top-off oil or it's not factory fill.

Sorry, I agree with those that say "Bee-Ess".

It was either changed or that engine has been a big oil burner like 1q per 1k for a long time, and the father changed the filter once in awhile.

About 5 years ago I was getting my oil changed at a local shop (owned by a friend that I knew...used my own oil and filter and charged me $10 labor...worth it to me at the time)and a newer Mustang was in the bay next to me. The young female driver seemed upset when talking to the owner and promptly drove away. When I asked what happened, the owner said she came in because the engine was smoking and thought she should get the oil changed. The car had 37K miles and the oil had NEVER been changed. The owner advised her that he could change the oil but there was likely some serious damage/sludge causing the smoking and she could be looking at a major repair bill. Apparently she said to forget it and just drove away (he said he topped the oil off and didn't charge her). I could only shake my head (I have to say she looked great though...bet she never missed an appointment at the beauty salon).

And most people still go to Jiffy Lube every 3,000 miles. We could end our dependence on foreign oil. Sheesh! SMH

Kinda makes sense. And unscrewing the filter to replace with a newone is a lot easier than full drain (about 1 minute). He's basically following the bypass filter methodology of never changing oil & replenishing the additives with a fresh 1/2 quart per 3000.
