BITOG Pennzoil Ultra Q&A

First, I want to thank each and every one of you from SOPUS who is taking their time and effort to answer questions from us, we greatly appreciate it.

If it is not proprietary, can you say with no ambiguity, is PU (as well as other pennzoil oils) made only from what is known as "Pennsylvania crude" coming from pennsylvania, and the surrounding states?

Will you produce a special version of Ultra made with group 4 and or group 5 true syntheic basestocks?

How much of Ultra's technology was derived from racing with your partnerships with RCR and Hendrick?

How about some deep discount coupons to motivate us [me] to use some . I just changed both my Toyota p/u's and they have PP in them . I am quite happy with pp.

When will Ultra be available in Canada and what stores will be carrying it? What price will it be sold for up here also? My Corvette is very anxious to try this oil!

What oil was the 'standard oil' in the ASTM sequence III G test in the dirty/clean piston display on the Pennzoil website?

The price Pennzoil Ultra is comparable to Mobil 1 Extended Performance at my local Walmart. Does Ultra meet or exceed the performance of Mobil 1 Extended Performance?

In other words, why should I buy Ultra over Mobil 1 Extended Performance since the price of both products is the same?

With the controversy on Group 3 synthetic oil in the US I've learned Shell has the expertise on GTL(Group 3+). With the new volume to be produced under the "PEARL" project in Qatar in the later part of 2010 could Shell enlighten us what is GTL and how it performs. Also is the GTL included with the Ultra.

Other than cleaning, what benefits are there in changing from Pennzoil Platinum?

Thank you for your time and taking your customers seriously

I really appreciate you providing this opportunity to the BITOG community. My questions:

1. Another +1 for the HT/HS question.
2. I have a Direct Injection engine and it is highly suspected that using an oil with a NOACK rating over 10% is not good for DI engines. Since Ultra is over 10% would Pennzoil guarantee no deposits to form on the valves of DI engines?
3. Would Pennzoil recommendation Ultra for use in a factory fresh engine?

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pennzoil Ultra is only avaiable at Walmarts in the East Bay. I do not shop at Walmart. Will Pennzoil Ultra eventually be avaiable at other retailers and independent parts stores?
Thank you.
Mikey

True. Please give us something, anything, on where we might be able to take this oil OCI wise.

Huge props for doing this on BITOG. I was already planning PU for my next (long) OCI, and now you've added good will to the decision!
