Steve S, I'm surprised Ben hasn't posted this link about 2-cycle oils yet. It's one of his faves:

I know that you run Phillips Injex in your boat, but what about the Mobil MXT2, would you run that in an outboard? -Joe

No I would not run MX2T in my boats. It has alow ash additive chemistry that is totaly wrong for a outboard motor. Conversly I would not use injex in my chainsaw or dirtbike. Two cycle oils are application specific just like automotive oils.

joee12, I believe that Ben has stated that Phillips Injex is more cost effective for fleet use and that's why he uses it.

I tried to get my hands on some testing results from the NMMA, but no one wants to let that info out on how the oils performed. I was at a garage sale the other day, and this guy had 2 2.5 gallons of brand new, unopened Quicksilver for $10 each. I got 5 gallons of Quicksilver for $20. I'll be happy with that for a while
