I too check with SEARS, as well as the other local tire dealers. I usually end up buying online and having *Walmart do the install. Typicaly I end up saving $120-$150 on 4 tires by buying online w/ W*M install.

Our circle usually does this. My buddy recently(after winter 2012) bought 4 Michelin LTM M/S 2(235-70-16) for $172/ea(DTD) free shipping and $47.00 W*M install and $70 Rebate from Michelin. Total cost was $665.

I see that the same deal is going on at DTD with an extra $30 gift card but, the tires are up an extra $10/tire

Tire plans have been temporarily suspended due to co-worker's financial obligations elsewhere, so we'll revisit this next month.

Who knows what will be on sale then, any guesses?

Sears had another one-day sale. Once the website decided to behave itself, it was $527 installed for all 4 tires.

$161/tire and $15/tire for balancing.

The discounts were as follows: 1 tire free, $40 off, 50% off installation (balancing).

After rebate, the price will be $447.

Done.
