Beta Ratings for Oil Filters

How do you find beta ratings for oil filters? They don't seem to be printed on the filter boxes, and can't find them in any print or online catalogs or descriptions of the filter. Have to write to the manufacturer? I'm interested in comparing the beta ratings for the stock Mustang filter (Motorcraft FL500S) and the Ford Racing counterpart, both made by Purolator I believe.
 
In most cases you won't find this information even if you contact the right person. From what I remember seeing posted in the past the Ford racing filters are lower efficiency than regular Motorcraft filters but are much stronger in burst strength and over allow robustness.

That's what I was expecting. I'm guessing the race filters flow more oil, and with thicker viscosity oil, but at an expense in filtering efficiency (in other words they allow slightly bigger particles).

Ford Racing oil filters are higher efficiency as well as higher flow rate than the motorcraft counterparts. Add a heavy duty machined base plate, thicker casing, etc.

That is the case at least for the FL820. Someone posted the flow charts as well as efficiencies a while back for the MC FL820s and the FR FL820. Should be easy to find with searching. I know it has circled the ford svt forums a lot. I would assume the FL500 is no different in the comparison.

I run the FR FL820 on my '10 F-150 5.4 and been very pleased. A lot cheaper to just buy by the case from like cj pony parts. On cj it shows the FR FL820 can be used on most FL500 applications. I assume that is what you meant? I know that fl500 has a lower bypass psi and would fit better in tighter places. Otherwise, the ford racing filters are high quality.
