I purchased a set of the Rain-X silicone for use during the winter since, being a beam style, they shouldn't plug up as easily with snow and ice as my conventional blade style PIAA set which I use during the rest of the year. While they also have that water beading effect like the PIAA wipers, they do have tendency to chatter once temperatures drop below a certain point - at least until I get up to speed. I don't get that with my PIAA silicone wipers. While this could be because the springs in my wiper arms aren't very strong anymore (the car is now over 16 years old), it does demonstrate that not all silicone wiper formulations are the same.
Whatever Ollies has on the rack for $4.98 and replace them yearly. Other than the original blades I have never done better with any pricier blade, and I have tried them all.
You should check out project farm on YouTube. He performed a very thorough test. Before anyone gasps on here this was my recommendation to him personally which he sent me an email as a thanks and tested a number of wiper blades.
