So today I drove from New York to Northern Ohio to visit my family. Thus far since I've had my car, my best tank has only ever been 29mpg or so. Well, today was pretty nice weather, and I did take the NYS Thruway. Set the cruise at 70, it was nice out, cool enough that I could just let the blower run without A/C. I also added 6oz of Lucas UCL to the gas at each fill up. I drove the first 297.3 miles on 8.393 gallons. That is 35.5mpg! I was quite happy, since I not only met my EPA estimate (33) but exceeded it! At 70mph no less. Then, just before I entered cleveland, I accidentally reset the average mpg again (it is consistently 2mpg higher, so earlier it had said exactly 37.5mpg, real was 35.5) Going about 60-65 through cleveland, I was pushing 39mpg (41mpg indicated).
I'm quite pleased with my mileage this trip. Also is quite comfortable to drive on the highway, and quiet. Feel like I could go another 500 miles today.
