I am curious as to what oil would be best for short OCI's in a turbo application. I like to change my oil, and dont mind paying top dollar for the oil and filters. I usually run 3-5k mile oci's with Amsoil, redline, or GC, along with an Amsoil, K&N, or M1 filters.
- I don't mind the price
- Best protection again heat
- Best start-up protection
- Best to hold its viscosity
- Best filter to go along with the oil
- Best HT/HS
- Not interested in extended OCI's or saving money to do so.
- Just want the "best" all around oil
The motors are a Chrysler 2.4l turbo with 250-260hp/280ftlbs of torque to the wheels, and a supercharged V6 nissan that holds 3.5 quarts.
The 2.4L is drivin pretty hard and is a daily driver, with 3-4 track days(roadcourse) a year. 20 mile commute one way. The Xterra is a daily driver with a 12 mile cummute one way.
I like working on the cars, so changing the oil is a fun Saturday afternoon event for me.
