i liked what i see about indiana. decent atmosphere. and the thing i read said one of cons i saw was it said its not very diverse. and you couldnt find a thai restaurant real easy. my first thought was " good i dont eat that [censored] anyway" as long as there is a mexican restaurant a steak house and a pasta house im fine.

Florida's great if you can take the sun and heat with high humidity. Nice in the winter. Lots of retirees getting their oil changed, keeping the cars forever, no rust. A mechanics dream. Except on scalding hot humid days in a garage turning a wrench.
I bets you stay where you are, or in the general area, near what your used to.

Its hard to say. Relative to where I live much cheaper. But I can't make the kind of money I make in Boston in Portsmouth. My higher pay offsets living in Ma. I make out living down here even though it costs more, if that makes sense. Everyone's situation is different.
Compared to Portsmouth's inland neighboring towns like Exeter, Newmarket, Durham and Dover, Portsmouth will be slightly higher because its on the ocean, and a lot of jobs. But they are only a few mile farther in, still good locations to Portsmouth, and the ocean. Go on http://www.zillow.com and poke around, you can see the difference in real estate just being inland from the ocean by 1 town. Price drops.
Whenever the economy has trouble, NH real estate tanks. The farther away you get from cities, the worse it gets. In New England the farther away you get from Boston, the more real estate tanks. So right now you can get a real good deal up in NH.

The more I travel the more I like CT.
I like the history and culture, things recently settled areas west of the Mississippi lack. Being by the water is the best for an avid boater like me, and I don't really mind the seasons. CA is really nice as well, its my second favorite state.
Lots of states are very pretty and fun to visit but I couldn't live their. To remote and the food is awful.
Boston is great, Philly is great, DC is meh a slum but ok, NY is great. Compared to say Omaha, ugh. Omaha has nothing but corn.

Most of the NH revenues come from property taxes. While higher than down here, the real estate is so much cheaper, it "feels" like less.

The NH motto is "Live free or die", think its still on the license plates. And they back that up with no helmet requirements for motor cycles. MA bikers stop at the line, take helmets off, "ahhhh..I'm free" (but if I crash I'm dead)..
One thing they do in NH I find strange and annoying is nearly everyone gets a personalized vanity license plate rather than the basic set of DMV numbers and letters. Almost every NH car has a plate with a message like WHO-DAT, HOTBLND, REDSOX1, IM2FAST. Bet the cops dont mind, easy to remember.
i wish ive seen more so i knew more but i really like old looking small towns lol and next to water is nice
