Best penetrating lubricant

You can almost buy a new car for the cost of a can of Kroil these days. I hoard my remaining can like dragon’s gold.
$33/16.5 oz can. I recently purchased a can of WD-40 Specialist Penetrant spray for $6.43/11 oz. Not expecting it to be world-class, but hoping it will be good enough.

KROIL always gets my vote. It did amazing things for us at work. Very true about the cost. I was shocked several years ago when I was ordering cases of it ahead of any job site shutdown maintenance at how much it cost then. Plus I was ordering the small cans too! Thing is IT WORKED! :ROFLMAO: We actually had to start keeping it locked inside a storage bin at the shop or it would get stolen. Leave a can out on the work table, next morning it was gone!

WD40 is BS IMO, use a specific penatrating oil.
There's a lot of misconceptions about what WD-40 is good for. The WD stands for "water displacement", which is what it's best at (took them 40 tries to get it right). As far as lubricating properties go it's extremely lightweight and has very little staying power, it's actually more of a solvent than a lubricant which gives it good cleaning properties and is safe for most surfaces except some plastics.
It has some penetrating qualities, but nowhere close to the dedicated stuff.
