Best Lube for Extreme Cold?

Break Free CLP is pretty dang good and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Meets Mil Specs for cold, I have used it at -14F worked great (I know it is very different than -40F) I use it to clean and lube all my guns. BTW after I hunted in -14 weather I swore I would never do it again...miserable.

A good full synthetic ATF or 0w20 motor oil would be an excellent lube for anywhere you might need a drop or two. Look for the ones with pour points < -40F.

For an ultimate cold weather lube, try Pentosin CHF 11s or 202. Hard to beat a 300 viscosity index when cold.
CHF 11s
CHF 202

IMO, all those gun coatings should be used WITH grease or oil in their applications and not as a substitute for cleaning/oiling/greasing.

I don't mind any of the 'marketed' gun lubes. But, $60 a quart?
Niche marketing is alive and well.
