Boars Head Uncured are good, but we only do hotdogs maybe twice a year so we don't compare that often.
Unfortunately, no Publix near me, but I get down south regularly....so thanks for letting me know that.I get mine at Publix if they're in your area.
It's a personal preference. Eat what you want. Cook your eggs in bacon grease.Party pooper.![]()
Doesn't everyone cook eggs in bacon grease. Thats how I eat them, one time wife made them in butter, yuk, but to each his own. Growing up it was either lard or bacon grease. Sometimes I wrap my hot dogs with bacon and the dogs are cooked in the grease. It's a personal preference. Eat what you want. Cook your eggs in bacon grease.
You started it.Popular topic...lol You people (me) have no life.
Is this Jim's in pittsburgh?
The very best thing at Jim's is the bone in pork chop sandwich, a close second is Jim's Polish Sausage. And the coolest thing about Jim's is that it is open 24x7, 365 days per year. Jims was often a stop for me while do cross country moves. The concern at Jim's over the past few years is safety.Nope, Jim's in Chicago.
If you want the most snap you may want to try a knackwurst. Nothing pops like that when you bite into it.Hard to find around here but when I do, I buy them!!! Can't beat that "snap" when you biting down on it. When I visit my daughter near VA Beach there is a small stand that sells I believe is the hormel brand that they advertise as having the snap. They are ok but just not as good as Nathans.
Have to try it, never had. Had Brats but really not much flavor IMHO, Had weisswurst(sp?) but I was told to remove casing and I did. It was ok but wouldn't get again. Try anything once or twice depending on who is cooking it.If you want the most snap you may want to try a knackwurst. Nothing pops like that when you bite into it.

Awesome place Jim's is....
Sometime in the 2000s I was on a business trip to Paris and went to see the Eiffel Tower. Guy outside it was selling what he called hot dogs. A grilled sausage with real beef rather than filler, stuck into a crisp baguette and slathered with coarse mustard that homemade rather than coming out of a bottle. When I make a hot dog I use a large Frankfurter sausage and I put it on a crunchy roll. I don't bother with little wieners. Coarse mustard, preferably, you knew it was coming, Grey Poupon.
Do you know why they are called hot dogs? It's because Vienna sausages look like dachshunds: long and thin. That's where the dog in hot dog comes from and also the term wiener dog.
Mon dieu, cela semble délicieux!Sometime in the 2000s I was on a business trip to Paris and went to see the Eiffel Tower. Guy outside it was selling what he called hot dogs.
