You may want to try Harley's Formula+. Harley recommends it across the board now for all transmission and primary applications. It works great in my Sportster.

Wouldi,my friend has a 97 evo fatboy,he uses Harley Formula+.so far shifts well and no noise.

You might try Redline Shockproof Heavy. I have used it over the years with great results. Another idea is to use one of the hydraulic auto primary chain adjusters on the market. I put one on my 03 Fatboy and was rewarded with better shifting and it made it much easier to find neutral at a stop. I also use Redline MTL in the chaincase.

+1 Shockproof heavy is the bomb

Great for 5 speeds.
