best electric fuel pump

I never had any problems with electric fuel pumps from NAPA or Carquest. Of course, I never bought the pump alone, I bought the whole module each time.

Avoid any aftermarket fuel pumps, they are junk and do not last.Bosch,Airtex and Carter are 3 to stay away from.Napa's fuel pumps are made by Airtex.Delphi pumps are the best for GMs,any places that sell AC Delco parts,Carquest and the dealer are three places to get a Delphi pump. Also replace the fuel filter,it is part of the warranty on the new fuel pump

Seems like half the factory pumps I replace are made by Bosch....

Airtex will not warranty most of their fuel pumps 99.9% of the time calling it installer error.Put in 6 pumps in one Chevy truck one year and were Airtex pumps,Airtex would not warranty them. One cause of the fuel pump going bad is a plugged up fuel filter and people running the tank down below a quarter tank. The general rule with an EFI system is not to run below quarter tank or the fuel pump will burn up,the gas cools the fuel pump.

Most Carquest and NAPA units are China-made and not up to snuff. I replaced one last month that had been in only 6months. It had a new filter installed at the same time.
The absolute best aftermarket(if you can call them that) are Denso pumps. Their quality is better than many O.E. units and they are O.E. on most Toyota,Honda, and several "domestic" brands. They are not the cheapest but you won't have to replace it once it's in there. Denso is sold through so many parts houses it's impossible to list them.Carquest can get them but you will have to specify Denso or have them order one through World-Pac(which Carquest owns).

I have never had a problem with a Carquest fuel pump since they switched to Delphi. The owner of Northwestern Auto Supply in Muskegon,Mi has never had one returned since the switch to Delphi which is a Carquest parts store.

QFT - I'd had Carquest get me a Denso on a house account and it was much, much cheaper than OEM-boxed Toyota. Their Nippon fuel filters are the same as Denso or Toyo Roki too.

A lot and the Delphi pumps do hold up.The Delphi pump is not made in China. Some of Carquest's parts are GM,Ford and Chrysler parts put in their boxes.

for the most part you don't have a high failure rate on anything except gm trucks. I do not know why but I have seen dozens over the last year and all have improved connector but still issues. just a failure prone design maybe, and less so with the delco pump installed. but my experience with about any other application a cheaper one will give you good service life.

Ford used/uses Bosch and Walboro for their OEM pumps, both of which have had a fantastic reputation for reliability. I cannot think of the last time I heard of a fuel pump (Bosch) in a Crown Vic failing.....

The Delco pumps on the other hand..... GM seems to have a reliability issue with fuel pumps, at least in the trucks from what I've seen.

I've received nothing but top-notch parts from Carquest - I've got a Aisin-box fan bracket which is OEM but it has Aisin stamped on it.

that and people who insist on running their cars almost empty on gas all the time. we never really paid attention until ford had 150+ fuel pump part numbers go on backorder due to a vendor issue and the cars started piling up.

Exactly. We have a member at one of the GM forums I belong to that has a photo of his old factory fuel pump (2003 Trailblazer) and the new A/C Delco part. Both have the Bosch part number on them.
