Last year on May 6, 2025, I took my 2018 Honda Pilot to the dealer because of a recall for the fuel pump. They replaced the fuel pump and off I went. Yesterday, the fuel gauge stopped working and she started throwing a P0463 code, which is a high voltage input from the fuel sensor. The fuel sensor was replaced as part of the recall since the whole fuel pump assembly includes the pump, sensor, float, etc. I am scheduled to take her back to the dealer on Monday, May 18, 2026, which will be one year and 12 days after they replaced the fuel pump for the recall.

Obviously, I want them to cover the fix on their dime since this was done under a recall. Our future AI overlords say that Honda replacement parts are covered by a one year warranty, but since this was done under a recall I am unsure if different rules apply. Anyway, should I expect a fight to get them to cover the fix/replacement of a faulty sensor that they installed, or is this a situation where they should be willing to take care of it? I am unfamiliar with the dynamic because I don't engage with dealerships unless absolutely necessary.

I suspect this would fall more to the Honda Corp covering this replacement rather than the dealer who would likely be fine with doing it under Honda's warranty cover.

My Durango had a similar problem.... Water could enter the brake booster, freeze, and cause reduced braking. I had the recall done (they test that the booster would hold "acceptable" vacuum and put a shell around it to divert water), and a few months later booster failed anyway. They replaced the whole booster under the recall.

I agree, calling customer service and opening a case might get you some sympathy. 12 days seems reasonable for courtesy coverage.
