In that case Havoline fits your bill. 10W30, and 5W30 spec sheets say 12cSt@100C. Chevron will be the same.

I wish that were true; my spec sheet says 9.7 cSt at 100C.

Perhaps you're referring to the High Mileage Havoline.

Any of the SM rated conventionals will do fine. Until you start reading all the post here and then you'll go crazy and have to spend your savings on therapy.

No, most others are forulated to pass spec. From what I,ve seen these two have formulations that protect in extreme pressure situations.

In my book Cheapest does not = best buy!!!! Price is just one factor in a purchase decision and should not be the only factor!! I would get an oil that has a proven track record of performance..Now out of the oil's that AZ sells Havoline would have to be the oil with the best track record folowed by Valvoline Maxlife now I am talking Conventional oils here. So I would go with Havoline sure it is not the cheapest but it does have a great track record with plenty of UOA on this site to support my recomendation!

Super flow is basicly Mobil Clean 5000 and neither of those oils is what I would call that great!!! They are decent at best but in some vechile these two oils will have consuption issues badly. Then their is all the sodium in this oil if you have an engine design prone to head gasket leak's this is not such a great oil since it could mask signs of a coolant leak.

Kendall uses an overbased calcium additive pack from lubrizol. Pennzoil uses a package custom blended from Afton. It uses moly at an EP treat rate. Both are considered advanced additive packages. I have also noticed that the new Valvoline all-climate 5w-20 is using the same Lubrizol package as the dura blend and Kendall. That should be a good one(the all-climate 5w-20) as well

Id wait for their sales, and see what specials they have, Id go with a major player such as Havoline, Valvoline, Pennzoil or Castrol. Alot of times they have the Castrol GTX and Bosch oil filter for $12.99, thats a pretty decent deal, best deal Autozone runs.
