I was in the same boat as you for several years (4.5 mile commute twice a day). I also ended up using the Schaeffers 5W-30 in a 4 cyl. Honda Accord. After getting a UOA from Dyson I started using Lube Control with the oil and it held up even better and I was getting good UOA's with 5,000 mile intervals. My wife's Honda with the same engine but with a 20 mile commute easily went 10,000 mile intervals with outstanding UOA's. IMHO, you will really like this oil.

I would like to know why you are driving a $30k+ vehicle for 2.7 miles one way twice a day?

I'd either be driving an electric golf car, motorcycle, GEM car or a $1500 Honda Civic.

Best advice I have is to let the engine run at idle for a minimum of 90 seconds before even thinking about putting it in gear. That means at work, too.

It's pretty obvious that people searching for the perfect oil have but one possibility. I'd install 5 or 6 oil sumps in the vehicle and have a selective switch that would allow the engine to use each oil when a master sensor determined that the oil viscosity was 0.000127 Angstrom microns below the critical atomic radius variable. That way, your engine could be tuned perfectly for short trips to the convenience store, a distance of 0.24 miles. One MUST seek the truth on these matters and/or stop trying to get others to answer such difficult and critical questions about "the perfect oil". Perfect oil in an imperfect vehicle? It appears that your psychoanalyst may be the best place to get these questions answered to your satisfaction. I've scheduled my appointment for next week when the topic will be, "Philosophical and Legal Implications of Driving the Poorly Lubed Car". I can't wait...
